Friends
Although he grew very close to his fellow kidnapped in the year that the Villain kept them under lock and key, Dimitri struggled to re-adjust to the real world following their freedom. Therefore although he still remembers them all, he has kept in contact with very few in the years that followed.
However he has good memories of the likes of Lilo, Eric, Cinderella, Charlotte, Pocahontas, Snow, and Anya, and the others he has met, although he tries not to look back since he more often than not just remembers the bad instead.
Enemies
the hatred towards some of the other kidnapped died as he left them behind, except for that of their kidnapper who he still does not forgive for taking the cowards way out after keeping them like he did for over 9 months. Proof he did not even want them for anything only angered him further.
Now this hatred is once again fresh for the new kidnappers. He cannot believe anyone would be so sick as to want to replay the events from 5 years ago, and put him through this once more.
Acquaintances
Everyone he met from the original kidnapping remains a close aquaintance to him, regardless of whether or not he has spoken to them since.
Fa Zhou- First room mate, even if they were not exactly on friendly terms.
Traumas
Thumbelina's Death: Dimitri had never killed anyone before, accidently or otherwise. Although he has tried, Dimitri has never been very good in violent situations. Therefore the murder of Thumbelina has been very traumatic for Dimitri to deal with, and his guilty conscience continues to haunt him.
Jane's attempted rape: Watching this on tv made Dimitri feel helpless and further emphasised to him that he was unable to help anyone.
Pocahontas and Anya's torture: Dimitri usually blames himself for the problems that go wrong both in his life and within the lives of people close to him. He is never very good with letting go of his past mistakes, and often holds his guilt for long periods of time. In holding onto the key he indirectly caused the torture of Pocahontas and Anya, betraying Eric. He now feels very guilty, and still tries to find some way to make it up to the people he has hurt.
Odette's torture: Watching this from his room he felt useless and as if he had betrayed Odette beyond imaginable after promising to help her.
Being trapped in Room 0 with Jane's body: Stuck alone surrounded by the dead he had loved Dimitri reached his lowest point, willing himseld to die.
History
Before The kidnapping

Dimitri's parents moved to America before he was born. He was an only child, and both his parents worked long hours. Therefore he often got bored. At school he was smart, but at the age of 8 he moved and was therefore isolated from the rest of the children at his school. He met Odette when playing by himself in the woods by a lake.
Odette and him were close friends. As he got older he began to notice her scars more and more, and eventually asked her about them. Learning about her father he promised to protect her. They planned to leave together, and Dimitri bought her a locket. However Dimitri stole the locket, and was arrested at the time they planned to escape. When he eventually was released Odette was not at home, already in hospital due to the latest confrontation with her father. Afterwards she left home, not seeing Dimitri until 5 years later, in the place the Villain had taken them to.
Dimitri was arrested twice more after Odette left, and eventually kicked out by his parents who he is no longer in contact with. Instead he went to the city to try and find Odette, working various jobs.
More recently he met Charlotte, and she helped him pay for a flat and get a job working for her father's company. However the day before he was captured Dimitri lost his job on account of being drunk whilst working and shouting abuse at his customers. He woke up hungover, and whilst walking home was confronted by the Villain.

Dimitri had to overcome multiple traumatic events, watching people be killed right before his very eyes. All he managed to learn was that he could not take care of people, and that essentially he was a failure to everyone close.
Jane's death was prehaps the most scarring of traumas, leaving him unable to keep anyone close to him. His life before had been entirely orientated around looking for Odette, but since the events with Sinbad he no longer wanted to see her in fear he would only cause more problems.
Lilo became very close to him during the kidnapping, something he had not expected since he has no experience with children. They drew together to pass the time, with him giving her piggy-backs to help her reach the ceiling. As time progressed she proved wiser, and prehaps more traumatised, than he had first expected.
The events with the key were what caused him the most trouble, first finiding and hiding it from Eric and therefore getting both Pocahontas and Anya tortured. Then he was forced to kill Thumbelina in a twisted game of the Villain's, before finding another key that eventually led him to room 0.
Everyones pasts shocked him, along with the fact the Villain seemed to know everything about them. The items he found in the suitcase he has forever kept with him, not wanting people to know anything more about the Villain than what he should be viewed as- a heartless and pathetic killer. Answers the media would have revealed would not have helped him in the slightest. The only thing he did hand over to the authorities was the location of the bodies, so family members would be able to bury their loved ones.
After the first kidnapping

After escaping with everyone, ensuring they were all still safe and alive, Dimitri spent some time in hospital, trying to help with his own malnourishment. He was also quickly diagnosed with depression, and recieved anti-depressants.
Once the media attention had died down Dimitri quickly returned to the life of a recluse. His initial aspirations of escape had all been associated with Jane, and now both her and her son were dead. He had buried them, along with all the others, and attended the whole series of funerals arranged by the families. However it was always difficult to go to, when family members wanted comfort and information about what had happened.
With the freedom Dimitri quickly fled as far as he could. Initial media interest gained him money and some financial security from the payments he recieved to be interviewed. Although at first keeping in contact with some, he quickly broke down these relationships through sheer lack of effort, and instead spent his time along. In the first year or so of their freedom he had kept in contact with Charlotte, but after getting in a fight with her over his depression and suicide attempt he left, and he has not heard from her since. As the months went by he could not get any of the memories out of his head, nor remember any happy ones. Instead he fell into alcoholism, and a series of suicide attempts, most of which he was too much of a coward to follow through with. In other cases people had found him, or he had been dragged to hospital.

Appearance
Dimitri appears incredibly skinny, place, and dark eyed from lack of sleep over the years, and consuming alcoholism. He did not keep many long-term scars from the events that occured, except for the F brand on his hand and several on his back which has never fully recovered. However he is constantly reminded from memories. If anything he looks worse than he did 5 years ago, aging a lot more than expected and with relatively little concern for his own welfare.
