Ardent Caresses Laid To Rest [ TTW 7 & 5 ]

Odette had locked herself away in the bathroom for what seemed like hours. She sat there, ready to throw up again at any moment as she leant her head back against the wall and gently rubbed her stomach. She groaned softly as she remembered how this felt the last time she was here, everything up until she lost ..

I can't go through that pain again .. and knowing this place it'll probably be a hundred times worse .. she thought as she remembered how she'd lost her baby here last time. She wondered if their new kidnapper knew what she'd done .. then there'd be no telling what was going to happen to her this time.
Losing her baby had been the worst torture for her last time and she couldn't help but think how long it had taken her .. and Sinbad .. to get to this point again and how she would feel if she lost it again .. even if it wasn't ..
She shook her head but the more she thought about it all, the more she couldn't take it and she suddenly screamed as loud as she could.

'Why did this have to happen again?!' she cried as she broke down for the first time since being back here.

Sinbad was sitting in his own thoughts, half asleep. Suddenly he heard a scream that woke him up completely. "Odette," he said to himself before he faced the wall and shouted her name. "Are you in there?"
For so long he had wondered where she had been, a part of him always knowing that the possibility of her being trapped in here was quite high.

As soon as she heard his voice she quickly held her breath, hoping that her silence would make him give up. Not only was the thought of what she did running chaotically through her mind, but she started to remember what Pocahontas had told her about him and that only started to make her cry more.

"It's you, isn't Odette?" Sibnad continued, his voice filled with yearning. For so long he hadn't know where she had been, if she was okay. The way she had just left him still hurt, but in that moment those thoughts didn't cross his mind.

Odette closed her eyes as she tried to get her emotions under control. When she heard his voice again she realised she should probably give him some sort of explanation for what happened, especially since she didn't know how long either of them had left in here ..

'It's me,' she said slowly, even though she was still crying and her voice was shaky.

Sinbad leaned his forehead against the wall, waiting for an answer. "Oh, thank god," he exclaimed when he heard her voice. He could hear the light shaking in her voice. "It's really you," he said as his eyes started to fill up with tears.

'Surprise ..' she tried to joke before she was silenced by her tears.

Sinbad blinked his tears away before he continued. "Are you okay?" he asked concerned. ".. given the circumstances." It was hard to tell, but he thought he could hear her cry slightly.

'I'm just perfect ..' she said sarcastically as she stared around the empty bathroom. She looked down at her hand which was still resting gently on her stomach as she thought carefully about what she should say next.

'I guess it was good to see Pocahontas again ..'

Sinbad wasn't sure what to reply. Of course she wasn't fine. None of them were fine as long as they were trapped in here. Yet he was relieved to hear her voice again.
What she said next confused him a little. He wasn't really sure what she meant. "So.. you're roomed with her now?"

'No .. her husband,' she said, remembering that Kenai was in the next room, 'Pocahontas was my first in here ..'

"Oh, I see.." Sinbad thought about it for a little while. "Was he also kidnapped the first time?" he asked eventually.

Odette nodded even though she knew he couldn't see her, 'I was with him for a while, just before we were let go ..' She teared up again when she remembered how much better her life had been after their first ordeal here, and how she cared more about her life now than when she first arrived in this place.

Sinbad nodded. Eventually he remembered that she couldn't see him and decided to come with a little ok. After that he sat in silence for a while, not knowing what to say.

Odette sat in silence, not wanting to say anything else for the moment, only breaking it to throw up once again.
She tried to make a lot of noise, splashing water as she washed her face, hoping that he wouldn't suddenly notice what she was doing.
As she sat down again she started coughing for a short while, she remembered what her pregnancy was like in the outside world and how even though she had a lot to think about, everything was easy. She hadn't realised just how awful it really was to be stuck in here like this until now.

The silence seemed to go on forever. Eventually he could hear her on the other side of the wall. He wass't sure what she was doing. She was so close to him now, closer than she had been for a long time, yet the wall made her seem so far away. He wondered if she had been kidnapped right after she had left, or if it had been a little while like with him. But he also knew that that wasn't the reason she had disappeared. The ring proved that.
THe silence went on for a long time. If it wasn't for her coughing he would have doubted she was even there. "Are you getting sick?" he asked worried.

'As if, you know living on the street was tougher than this ..' she joked as she tried to reassure him, but after what Pocahontas had told her about him she wasn't sure why she was bothering. Then she looked down at her stomach again and remembered that there was that chance that the nightmare she had faced outside of this place was really just the opposite for the both of them.

Sinbad was well aware that her life hadn't been easy, and then on top of all of it she had been kidnapped and trapped in here.. twice. He had had such an easy life compared to her. He had never needed anything. At least not anything that could be bought for money. Even so he had hated his life, always blamed other people for it. At least until after the first kidnapping. It was weird to think about, but some good things had actually come out of it.
"How have you been since..." he trailed off, not knowing how to continue. He never got an explanation from her and thinking about it still hurt.

'Since what?' she asked, pretending like she didn't know what he was talking about. Even though she could guess what it was, part of her wondered if he had somehow found out what she'd done before that.

"Since... since you left.." Saying it out loud was harder than he had thought it would be. Even if what he really wanted to know was her reason for leaving, he couldn't get himself to just ask her that. Not yet anyway.

She sat in silence for a while, not sure what to say to that. She could tell him the truth, that she missed him more than anything else but the thought of her having hurt him in the way that she did made it impossible for her to see him again .. at least until she knew for sure .. Or she could lie, which might make things easier later if .. but she didn't want to think about that anymore. So she did the only thing she knew how to do ..

'I've been .. great,' she lied, but she couldn't help but hesitate as she said the last word, '.. you?'

Sinbad sat down with his back against the wall, listening to her reply. He didn't say anything back for a long while. It must have been obvious to her how he'd feel after she left him with no form of explanation at all, not knowing if he'd see her again. "Not so great," he said eventually, not knowing what else to say.

'She remembers you, you know ..' she said quickly, not wanting to think about how he felt for too long knowing that she'd only start crying again.

"Who?" Sinbad asked confused, slightly surprised by the sudden subject change.
